Sr. Director, Medical Science Liaison

Key Responsibilities
- People Development (40%): Manage and develop MSL team performance; recruit, hire, onboard; coach via field visits; hold accountable to performance expectations; support succession/talent development.
- Strategy Development & Execution (30%): Develop/execute regional field medical strategies aligned to business unit and medical affairs; build field medical business plan; draft/communicate strategic plans aligning MSLs to clinical/scientific objectives and evidence generation (e.g., registration trials, observational studies).
- Business Partner Interface (15%): Partner with internal medical/development/commercial teams; collaborate with MSL leadership; support medical affairs staffing at congresses and feed clinical insights back to Lilly.
- Operational Excellence (15%): Oversee team quality, compliance, effectiveness, and documentation; ensure alignment with applicable policies/laws/regulations; analyze MSL activity data; manage finance/HR issues; identify/process improvement initiatives; partner with Ethics & Compliance, Legal, Medical Affairs.

Qualifications
- Required: Advanced doctoral degree (e.g., PharmD, M.D., Ph.D.) in a medically related field; minimum 2 years relevant clinical/therapeutic-area experience desired (minimum also noted via degree/experience alternative: BS/MS health sciences with 5+ years clinical/medical/pharma experience).
- Required: US work authorization for full-time basis (no visa sponsorship); valid US driver’s license.
- Preferred/Skills: Demonstrated people leadership (preferably field-based); strong business acumen and strategic/operational execution; learning agility; ability to provide feedback on technical communication/documentation; collaboration across business units/leadership; effective verbal/written communication; familiarity with academic/medical research/education highly valued; working knowledge of Lilly systems/regulated environments preferred.

Other
- Travel up to 80%; work 4–6 weekends/year; live near a transport hub.

Compensation/Benefits (as stated)
- Anticipated wage: $195,000–$314,600; eligible for company bonus and comprehensive benefits (including 401(k), medical/dental/vision, flexible benefits, life insurance, time off/leave, well-being).
