Position Summary
Reporting to the Executive Director, Medical Affairs & Advocacy Engagement, lead the development and execution of the Medical Strategy across all metabolic programs, gathering and synthesizing external insights (treatment patterns, unmet medical needs, competitive intelligence). Serve as a key scientific expert internally and externally to support alignment across clinical development, regulatory, and commercial readiness.

Job Responsibilities
Medical Strategy
- Develop and execute a comprehensive Medical Strategic Plan (insight generation, data dissemination, medical communications) across all obesity and related metabolic programs.
- Lead publication strategy across programs (abstracts, manuscripts, congress presentations).

Scientific & External Engagement
- Build relationships with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs), academic institutions, and healthcare providers.
- Present clinical and scientific data; represent the company at medical/community congresses and advisory boards.
- Lead high-level scientific discussions on disease state and treatment landscape.

Evidence Generation & Insights
- Support Investigator-Initiated Trials (IITs) and real-world evidence studies.
- Gather and synthesize medical insights from HCP interactions.
- Inform clinical development plans and lifecycle management.

Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner with clinical development, clinical operations, market access, and commercial teams.
- Review materials for scientific accuracy and compliance via MLR review; ensure regulatory and ethical compliance.

Qualifications
- MD, PharmD, or PhD in a relevant scientific field.
- 10+ years in biotech/pharma.
- Strong background in metabolic diseases (e.g., obesity, type 2 diabetes); global experience a plus.
- Prior experience as Medical Director or equivalent in Medical Affairs.

Skills
- Deep metabolism expertise; direct experience in obesity, type 2 diabetes, or incretin-based therapies preferred.
- Protocol design experience in metabolism, particularly incretin therapies.
- Strong communication/presentation skills; leadership and team management; strategic thinking with execution focus.

Travel
- 25% travel for HCP engagement and conferences/corporate meetings.

Benefits/Compensation (explicitly stated)
- Anticipated base pay range: $260,000–$360,000 (onsite or remote).
- Eligible for annual performance incentive bonus, new hire equity, and performance-based equity; medical/dental/vision, 401k match, unlimited PTO, and paid holidays including winter shutdown.
