Responsibilities:
- Lead management and scientific oversight of a small team of epidemiologists (hematology) supporting multiple assets and indications.
- Guide planning, design, and execution of epidemiologic studies/activities for clinical development support, safety/effectiveness (including post-licensure commitments), endpoint strategy, and observational research methodology.
- Review regulatory documents, study protocols/reports, and publications for scientific integrity and alignment with company strategy.
- Make key epidemiologic decisions; accountable for deliverables (strategies, plans, timelines, reports) and team study budgets.
- Own asset-level responsibilities across relevant indications.
- Present plans/results to internal review/governance committees; interact with regulators/health authorities (e.g., FDA, EMA, CDC, WHO).
- Provide epidemiology strategy leadership; serve as lead for planning, conduct, analysis, and reporting of epidemiologic studies.
- Solve scientific and operational problems (including cross-functional issues and personnel matters).
- Manage/mentor team members; responsible for performance management, recruiting, project assignments, resource allocation, expense approvals, and coaching.
Education/Qualifications:
- Required: MA/MS in Epidemiology + 8 years relevant experience.
- Preferred: PhD in Epidemiology (or related) or MD with additional epidemiology research training.
- Minimum 8 years relevant experience (preferably pharma/biotech); people management experience.
- Extensive experience directing large epidemiologic projects; record of peer-reviewed publications.
- Strong problem-solving and oral/written communication skills; 5% travel.
Preferred:
- Training/experience leading oncology epidemiology studies focused on hematology and biomarkers.
