Position Overview
With significant independence, lead a broad portfolio of multiple, complex clinical pharmacology strategies and studies (7β8 programs) in the Inflammation therapeutic area from first-in-human through approval and post-marketing. Partner with Clinical Pharmacology Sciences and cross-functional R&D groups to develop/execute clinical pharmacology strategies and plans, lead/oversee Clinical Pharmacology Study Teams (CPSTs), and represent Clinical Pharmacology in governance, leadership discussions, and selected health authority interactions.
Example Responsibilities
- Lead design and conduct of complex clinical pharmacology strategies and studies.
- Author/oversee/evolve clinical pharmacology strategies and plans, including Clinical Pharmacology Plans (CPPs).
- Lead/oversee multiple CPSTs and provide matrix leadership across project teams.
- Advise leadership/steering committees on strategy, decision points, trade-offs, and risks.
- Direct study design, PK/PD analyses, interpretation, and reporting for clinical/regulatory submissions.
- Represent Clinical Pharmacology in governance/product strategy forums and selected health authority interactions.
- Develop resource plans, budgets, priorities, and external support models.
- Coach colleagues; raise standards; lead initiatives improving methodologies/processes.
Requirements
- PharmD/PhD/MD or other advanced degree with substantial relevant experience.
- Typically 10+ years (PharmD/PhD) or 6+ years (MD), or equivalent combination.
- Multiple years leading high-complexity clinical pharmacology strategies/plans (biopharma preferred).
- Demonstrated experience leading large/complex drug development teams and influencing cross-functional strategy.
- Expert drug development knowledge across Phase IβIV; strong global regulatory understanding.
- Strong strategic judgment, communication, ability to influence without authority, innovation/continuous improvement.
- Ability to travel as needed.
Salary Range
Bay Area: $261,375.00β$338,250.00; Other US Locations: $237,575.00β$307,450.00. May include discretionary bonus/stock incentives, paid time off, and company-sponsored medical, dental, vision, and life insurance.
