Role Summary

The Senior Director, Molecules and Assays Solutions will lead strategic direction, product management, and AI-driven innovation for Pfizer’s Molecules and Assays platforms and systems. You will oversee a global team delivering scalable, sustainable, and science-centric solutions enabling research execution across Pfizer and external partners. As a senior leader, you will drive strategic planning for platforms and systems, integrating AI, data pipelines, and predictive analytics to enhance efficiency and decision-making.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver technical services including ecosystem architecture, quality, analytics, and data management to design and deliver innovative, cost-effective, and sustainable solutions for design and optimization of therapeutic agents across modalities.
  • Enable Medicine Design (MD), Biomedicine Design (BMD), Pharmacokinetics/Pharmacodynamics/Metabolism (PDM) and related functions; support assay development, registration, and hit identification; collaborate on functional genomics; oversee large and small molecule design, synthesis, and material management; enable Structural Biology.
  • Define and own the vision and strategy for digital Molecules and Assays Solutions and develop product capability roadmaps, with emphasis on AI innovation.
  • Architect a modular, interoperable digital ecosystem, integrating scientific data products, metadata frameworks, and platform interoperability across systems to enable AI technologies.
  • Anticipate technology trends, prioritize investments, and collaborate to pilot and scale emerging innovations that drive research strategy.
  • Establish and mature a strategic product and platform operating model; govern emerging technologies; design and lead a vendor framework; launch and scale AI programs to embed AI into core workflows.
  • Oversee global program delivery, manage business cases and KPIs, and ensure financial management for complex continuous delivery activities; manage SaaS and custom software solutions as needed.
  • Lead and mentor a high-performing team; foster culture of innovation, learning, and talent growth; influence across divisions and leadership teams.
  • Cultivate strategic relationships with research leaders and senior stakeholders; align Digital & Technology strategy with evolving research needs; collaborate across teams to deliver impactful research solutions.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline (required); Master’s degree preferred.
  • Experience/ Technical Skills:
    • 12+ years in life sciences or equivalent leading platforms and large-scale systems.
    • 10+ years in a leadership role with increasing scope; proven ability to create and implement high-impact strategic plans in a global organization.
    • Experience delivering technology solutions in a pharmaceutical or regulated environment with large-scale, enterprise software requirements in 24/7 environments; strong ability to mentor and develop talent.
    • Data-centric, innovative technology leadership with experience managing large-scale scientific, clinical, and operational data; familiarity with data collection, transformation, and analytics.
    • Proven experience leading product management teams with accountability for strategy, execution, and cross-functional alignment; ability to operate in a matrix environment.
    • Strong communication skills and ability to influence senior leadership and partners; capable of building credibility and collaboration across diverse teams.
  • Certifications/ Training: None (preferred: PMP and Agile certifications).
