Role Summary
The Senior Director, Molecules and Assays Solutions will lead strategic direction, product management, and AI-driven innovation for Pfizer’s Molecules and Assays platforms and systems. You will oversee a global team delivering scalable, sustainable, and science-centric solutions that power research execution across Pfizer and any in-scope external partners. You will drive strategic planning for your organization’s platforms and systems, integrating advanced technologies including AI, data pipelines, and predictive analytics to enhance efficiency and decision-making.
Responsibilities
- Molecules and Assays Solutions Enablement: deliver technical services including ecosystem architecture, quality, analytics, and data management to design, build, and deliver innovative, cost effective, and sustainable solutions to enable design and optimization of therapeutic agents across modalities.
- Role responsibilities enablement includes Medicine Design (MD), Biomedicine Design (BMD), Pharmacokinetics, Dynamics, and Metabolism (PDM) and related functions; assay development, registration, and hit identification; functional genomics; large and small molecule design, synthesis, registration, and material management; structural biology.
- Vision and Strategy: define and own the vision and strategy for digital Molecules and Assays Solutions, capabilities, with focus on AI innovation and product capability roadmaps; architect modular, interoperable digital ecosystem; anticipate technology trends and prioritize investments; collaborate to pilot and scale emerging innovations; identify external solutions and best practices; participate in pre-competitive consortia as applicable.
- Strategic Leadership: establish and mature a strategic product and platform operating model; govern emerging technologies to align with business objectives and regulatory/compliance requirements; design and lead strategic vendor frameworks; launch and scale AI programs to embed AI into core workflows and build process mining capabilities.
- Program Delivery Leadership: accountable for global Digital & Technology program delivery, overseeing technology implementation and business case development with metrics; manage global enterprise software solutions and custom software development as needed; oversee portfolio financials and delivery processes; ensure effective software development methodologies and governance.
- Team Leadership: lead with a culture of continuous improvement and innovation; mentor and coach team members; promote learning, reskilling, and talent growth; develop solutions to highly complex problems and drive decisions across business units.
- Strategic Relationships: build partnerships with research leaders; align Digital & Technology strategy with evolving research needs; foster cross-functional collaboration; represent digital R&D in enterprise-wide planning to embed clinical priorities into technology roadmaps.
Qualifications
- Basic Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline.
- Experience/Technical Skills/Tools: 12+ years life sciences experience preferred or equivalent experience leading platforms and large-scale systems; 10+ years in a leadership role; proven ability to create and implement high-impact strategic plans in a large, matrixed global organization; experience delivering technology solutions in a pharmaceutical or regulated environment; strong leadership, talent development, and mentorship capabilities; data-centric, innovative, business-minded technology leadership with experience managing large-scale scientific, clinical, and operational data; proven product management leadership with strategy, execution, and cross-functional alignment; ability to operate autonomously in a matrix environment; proven ability to influence senior leadership and collaborators.

- Preferred Qualifications
- Education: Master of Science in Information Management, Computer Science, Engineering or Technology Management.
- Experience/ Technical Skills: 15+ years with advanced degree and progressive leadership growth; experience building and scaling product management discipline; pharmaceutical clinical development experience.
- Certifications/ Training: Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification; Agile Certification.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline (required).
- Master of Science degree in Information Management, Computer Science, Engineering or Technology Management (preferred).
Additional Requirements
- Limited travel within the region and to other regions; Digital operations are 24x7x365; may require weekend/holiday or after-hours participation.
