Key Responsibilities:
- Independently manage active company litigation, government investigations, internal investigations, and prelitigation matters; guide other attorneys on similar matters.
- Proactively identify/analyze potential legal issues and risks; provide practical, risk-balanced pre-litigation advice.
- Lead and manage complex, large-scale litigation (False Claims Act, products liability, antitrust, general commercial litigation), including strategy, discovery tasks (fact witness interviews, deposition prep, expert work), and preparation for hearings/trial; review filings and adversarial materials.
- Manage government investigations from inception through resolution with internal stakeholders and outside counsel.
- Conduct internal investigations to completion (issue scoping, factual investigation, root cause analysis, remedial recommendations).
- Collaborate cross-functionally; define/directed manage outside counsel.
Basic Qualifications:
- Juris Doctorate (or equivalent advanced degree)
- 6+ years practicing in a law firm or in-house legal department
Preferred Qualifications:
- Active U.S. law license; 6+ years at multinational company and/or top-rated law firm
- Extensive experience with high-profile litigation/investigations, including life sciences; class actions, MDL/state coordinated actions, mass tort product liability, antitrust, commercial disputes, tax, appellate, and securities actions
- Investigation experience (internal and government/agency requests)
- Judgment, prioritization in matrixed environments, fast-paced cross-functional execution, minimal supervision with escalation when needed
