Role Summary

The Sr. Commercial Counsel serves as a key legal partner to the Company’s commercial organization, providing practical, business-focused legal advice across a broad range of commercial activities, including Sales, Marketing, Commercial Operations, and Medical initiatives. This role supports complex commercial matters in the pharmaceutical industry while ensuring compliance with applicable healthcare laws, regulations, and Company policies.

Responsibilities

  • Provide clear, practical legal advice and risk guidance to key stakeholders across the commercial organization focused on the following:
    • Commercial activities, including operations and analytics initiatives, sales and marketing strategies, training, promotional materials, and medical education
    • Legal matters related to commercial products and compliance with applicable healthcare laws and regulations, including the Anti-Kickback Statute, False Claims Act, and the Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act
    • Strategic and tactical legal advice on commercial issues, including support for cross-functional initiatives
  • Draft, negotiate, and advise on a broad range of commercial agreements, including vendor services agreements, data purchase and license agreements, market research arrangements, and other commercial initiatives
  • Partner closely with business clients to understand business requirements and ensure strategies and contractual terms align with Company priorities and policies
  • Manage and coordinate legal matters handled by outside counsel
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Required: Juris Doctor (JD) degree
  • Required: Active license to practice law in any U.S. jurisdiction
  • Required: 7+ years of legal experience, including experience at a well-regarded law firm and/or in-house with a life sciences company
  • Preferred: Experience supporting a commercial organization within the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry
