Sr. Cloud Engineer

Role Summary

Sr. Cloud Engineer responsible for leading the Azure cloud engineering team, defining strategy and architecture, implementing security policies and compliance as code, and optimizing operations. You will drive cloud automation, reference architectures, solution designs, roadmaps, and manage the Azure engineering and software development team while collaborating with cross-functional partners to improve reliability and performance of cloud services.

Responsibilities

• Lead the MSFT Azure cloud engineering team and drive strategy, account design, security policies, compliance as code, and operational optimization.
• Develop cloud automations and guardrails to meet application hosting requirements.
• Advance the maturity of the Azure service, including reference architectures, solution designs, roadmaps, and work allocations; directly manage the Azure engineering and software development team.
• Engage with server, database, and application teams as well as Azure external specialists to stay current on industry trends.
• Utilize a mix of cloud-native services and custom-built software to deliver and support cloud capacities.
• Set software development standards for the team.
• Collaborate with strategic external partners, global leaders, and executives to align cloud automation with technology needs and improve service reliability and performance.
• Lead and participate on cross-functional teams; align with CLOUDx and application teams for decision making.

Qualifications

• Required: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
• Required: 6 years of experience in the job offered or in a Sr. Cloud Engineer-related occupation.
