About the Role
The Senior Business Intelligence Engineer leads the design and development of scalable business intelligence and analytics solutions that support scientific and operational decision-making across Neurocrineโs research and development organization.
Your Contributions (include, But Are Not Limited To)
- Lead the design, development, and maintenance of BI dashboards, reports, and analytic data products.
- Partner with senior cross-functional stakeholders to translate requirements into scalable BI solutions, KPIs, and decision-ready insights.
- Define reporting standards, metric definitions, semantic consistency, and data quality practices.
- Integrate, profile, and validate data from research systems, clinical sources, and enterprise platforms.
- Apply knowledge of pharmaceutical research workflows (discovery, preclinical, translational, clinical) to frame analytics priorities.
- Provide technical guidance, review work products, and share best practices.
- Drive troubleshooting, performance tuning, user adoption, and continuous improvement.
- Prepare and maintain documentation for transparency, reproducibility, governance, and audit readiness.
Requirements
- Bachelorโs degree in a relevant field plus 4+ years in BI/analytics/reporting/data analysis roles supporting research, development, healthcare, or life sciences.
- Experience owning analytics/reporting/decision-support solutions for R&D/pharmaceutical research.
- Strong exposure to drug discovery, translational science, assay data, study operations, or development workflows.
- Experience with SQL, Python, or similar analytical tools.
- Familiarity with regulated data environments, documentation practices, and governance/inspection readiness.
- Plus: Revvity (VitroVivo, Signals).
- Experience aligned with data governance, quality, and GxP requirements.
- Proficiency with BI/analytics/reporting platforms; life sciences/pharma data domains.
- Advanced data modeling, visualization, KPI design, semantic consistency, and analytics workflows.
- Knowledge of data integration/transformation/governance/data quality.
- Cloud platform experience (e.g., Databricks, Snowflake, Redshift).
- Hands-on TIBCO Spotfire.
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, communication, and collaboration skills; ability to work in structured, compliant environments.
- Attention to detail and commitment to data quality and integrity.
- Willingness to learn and adapt.
