Sr Automation Engineer

Role: Senior Automation Engineer specializing in laboratory automation, primarily deploying and maintaining automated liquid handling systems within Twist's synthetic biology and genomics workflows. Responsibilities: develop, validate, and optimize automated methods for high-throughput operations; support and troubleshoot Hamilton STAR liquid handlers and related instrumentation; lead validation projects, author technical documentation, and ensure systems meet regulatory and ISO 13485 standards; collaborate with Operations, R&D, and Quality teams to improve workflows and integrate hardware with LIMS. Requirements: B.S./M.S. in Engineering, Life Sciences, or related field; 7+ years in laboratory automation with 5+ years specifically operating and programming Hamilton robotic systems; experience translating manual assays into automated processes; familiarity with sample tracking software and LIMS interfaces; strong data analysis and problem-solving skills. Preferred: scripting skills (Python, C#, VBScript); experience with NGS assay automation; knowledge of ISO 13485 quality systems.
