Role: Senior Automation Engineer focusing on bioassay development at Moderna's Norwood campus, bridging automation engineering and biological workflows. Responsibilities: lead development of scalable, GMP-compliant automation solutions for cell-based bioassays, ensuring biological integrity, traceability, and compliance; collaborate cross-functionally to translate assays into automation platforms; troubleshoot biological and system issues; drive continuous improvement for assay scalability. Qualifications: BS with 8+ years, MS with 5+ years, or PhD in Engineering, Biology, Biochemistry, or Bioengineering; hands-on experience with cell-based assays, GMP/GLP environments, and laboratory automation hardware/software; strong programming skills and familiarity with liquid handling systems and validation processes. Preferred skills: experience with GMP validation, automation for mammalian cell culture, transfection, and high-throughput sample prep; experience with third-party automation hardware and scheduling software; demonstrated ownership, problem-solving, and cross-functional collaboration.
