Responsibilities:
- Manage end-to-end histological workflows for multiple tissue types (e.g., liver, heart, brain, muscle, adipose), including fixation, dehydration, clearing, embedding, and sectioning.
- Perform routine and special histological staining (e.g., H&E, Sirius Red, PAS, Oil Red O).
- Conduct IHC and IF; develop, optimize, and validate IHC/IF protocols, antibody titrations, and antigen retrieval conditions.
- Apply ISH techniques (e.g., RNAscope) for gene expression localization.
- Acquire whole-slide images using platforms such as Aperio and Zeiss Axioscan; manage image data repositories.
- Perform quantitative image analysis using tools such as HALO and develop customized analysis algorithms.
- Create high-quality figures and data summaries for reports, regulatory packages, and publications.
- Maintain and communicate a workload tracker; flag capacity/scheduling conflicts; adapt to shifting priorities and animal study schedules.
- Maintain accurate and complete laboratory records.
