Role Summary

Sr. Associate Scientist responsible for planning and executing experiments that support non-routine research activities and project goals. Applies advanced understanding of project goals and methods, selects appropriate techniques, and collaborates with supervisory personnel to develop research approaches. Leads group discussions, communicates objectives and results, and stays current with scientific literature to inform research.

Responsibilities

  • Independently plan and execute assigned experiments that support non-routine research activities and project goals.
  • Apply advanced understanding of project goals and methods.
  • Select appropriate methods and techniques in performing experiments.
  • Collaborate with supervisory personnel to develop research methods.
  • Lead functional group meetings as needed; present results of work, interpret data, and draw conclusions regarding presented material and nature of work.
  • Act as a resource for other employees within the department.
  • Maintain familiarity with scientific literature and apply appropriately to research projects.
  • Use strong communication skills (both verbal and written) and interpersonal skills to communicate objectives and results.
  • Think critically and creatively, work independently, determine appropriate resources for problem resolution, and demonstrate strong organizational and planning skills.

Qualifications

  • Required: BS degree in a related scientific discipline with at least 5 years of experience
  • Required: MS degree in a related scientific discipline with at least 3 years of experience
  • Preferred: Deep understanding of biological pathways involved in inflammatory disease pathogenesis
  • Preferred: Prior experience in developing and characterizing mouse models for preclinical research
  • Preferred: Demonstrated ability to communicate complex scientific concepts clearly across teams
  • Preferred: Experience in ex vivo analysis and data interpretation related to immune cell profiling
