Sr. Associate 1, Embedded Software Engineer

Role: Embedded Software Engineer focused on designing and developing software for medical eye devices, working in a Real-Time Operating System (RTOS) environment. Objectives include creating safe, compliant software solutions for electromechanical devices, with emphasis on risk management, testing, and integration. Responsibilities entail implementing software based on detailed requirements, conducting code reviews, troubleshooting issues, and collaborating with cross-functional teams. Requirements: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent with at least 2 years of relevant experience; proficiency in C/C++ for embedded microcontrollers (e.g., STM32, NXP); understanding of circuitry, peripherals (SPI, UART, CAN, Ethernet, ADC/DAC), and debugging tools; familiarity with RTOS (e.g., ThreadX, CMX). Preferred skills include experience with embedded architecture, hardware interfacing, and lab equipment. The role involves adherence to GxP and SOPs, ensuring regulatory compliance and quality standards in medical device development. Work setup is onsite at Lake Forest, CA, with responsibilities centered on developing software for ophthalmic medical devices, with an in-depth focus on eye anatomy and physiology.
