The PKU Sr. Account Manager maximizes sales of BioMarin commercialized products in their area. Responsibilities include maintaining disease education, promoting awareness, and ensuring patient compliance with therapy.
Responsibilities
- Achieve territory sales goals, penetration, market share, and profit targets (quarterly and annual).
- Create and implement a business plan for strategy, disease awareness, and patient compliance; track progress.
- Build and maintain relationships with key customers: Geneticists, Nurses, Nurse Practitioners, Genetic Counselors, and ancillary staff.
- Communicate effectively with external customers and internal stakeholders (in person and via internet-based platforms).
- Provide leadership to fellow PKU Account Managers.
- Financially manage the assigned territory.
- Participate in business planning, disease awareness efforts, and professional society meetings as assigned.
- Become an expert in PKU data and explain its significance.
- Provide field insights on clinical practices of assigned accounts.
- Demonstrate leadership and influence without authority.
Scope/Travel/Remote
- Manage a multi-state territory with diverse customer base.
- Overnight travel: 40%β60%.
- Remote position (territory: ND, SD, MN, WI).
- Remote/virtual selling required (internet-based clinic meetings, internal calls, and patient education).
Education/Experience/Skills
- Bachelorβs degree required.
- Advanced healthcare degree or experience desired (e.g., nurse, pharmacist, dietitian).
- 7+ years pharmaceutical or healthcare industry experience; 5+ years biotech/specialty sales with high-cost products.
- Highly desired: sales in hospitals/academic institutions; orphan-disease experience; new product launch experience.
