Role Summary

Specialty Sales Representative, Eye Care – Providence, RI. Field-based with remote option and 40-50% travel. Responsible for launching LENZ Therapeutics' VIZZ ophthalmic solution for presbyopia in the territory, educating ophthalmology and optometry practices on disease states and product usage, and driving ongoing growth of the product portfolio. Build and manage relationships with key eye-care customers while upholding high standards of ethics and compliance.

Responsibilities

  • Expert in selling skills and account development, including building relationships with targeted physicians (optometrists and ophthalmologists).
  • Drive execution by exceeding sales performance goals and key productivity metrics across the territory.
  • Use analytical skills to guide productive activity, prioritize customer engagements, and extend depth and breadth of product trial and utilization.
  • Understand all functions within ophthalmology/optometry practices and how their roles impact product prescribing and pull-through.
  • Maintain complete knowledge of eye-care clinical information: ocular anatomy, disease states, products, and office treatment patterns.
  • Set actionable business plans and align all selling activities to drive impact.
  • Uphold the highest standards of ethics and compliance in all activities.
  • Maximize key resources that lead to territory success.
  • Collaborate with district managers, marketing, medical affairs, sales ops, inside sales, and training to achieve success.
  • Share best practices with peers and leadership to elevate overall performance.
  • Ensure PDMA compliance and adherence to company and industry guidelines.
  • Be highly adaptable to change, pivot quickly, and respond to new market information in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrate strong communication and change management skills.

Qualifications

  • Required: 2+ years of experience in pharmaceutical sales with a proven track record of success.
  • Required: Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or a related field.
  • Preferred: Proven track record of pharmaceutical launch experience.
  • Preferred: Eye Care experience.

Additional Requirements

  • This position will be field-based (remote). Candidate must live within the assigned territory.
  • Travel will be required within the selling territory and beyond to sales meetings, customer conventions, and the corporate headquarters in San Diego, CA.
  • Up to 40-50% travel required in some larger territories.
  • Reports to the District Manager.
  • Physical Demands: May require sitting for long periods, occasional walking, and lifting up to 20 lbs; frequent out-of-town travel; flexible schedules.
