What You Will Do
- Provide clinical knowledge of products to medical professionals and help them navigate the complex payer environment.
- Act as primary customer contact and implement marketing strategy to promote Amgen products as led by the District Manager.
Responsibilities
- Provide current knowledge of Amgen products and communicate clinical benefits to drive appropriate utilization.
- Achieve territory sales by delivering branded sales messages, conducting planned programs, scheduling and following up on medical educational programs, and meeting/exceeding sales targets (in-person and virtual).
- Develop and manage accounts: customize discussions, support product access, resolve/triage reimbursement issues, and maintain product contracts.
- Provide feedback on marketing strategy; analyze sales activity effectiveness and territory performance; develop territory plans with the District Manager.
- Share best practices and continuously learn/grow as a Senior Specialty Representative.
- Sustain product passion throughout the sales cycle, building the brand with patient impact front and center.
Basic Qualifications (Specialty Representative)
- Bachelor’s degree OR Associate’s degree + 4 years sales OR High school/GED + 6 years sales.
Basic Qualifications (Senior Specialty Representative)
- Bachelor’s degree + 3 years sales and/or non-sales clinical experience OR Associate’s + 6 years sales and/or non-sales clinical experience OR High school/GED + 8 years sales and/or non-sales clinical experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- 3+ years sales in pharma/biotech/medical devices; product or hospital sales in specified specialties (e.g., cardiology, inflammation); local market knowledge; established territory relationships; Bachelor’s in Life Sciences or Business Administration; adaptability with core competencies.
Benefits (as stated)
- Base salary range: Specialty Representative $89,816–$121,602; Senior Specialty Representative $109,631–$148,325. Total Rewards Plan including retirement savings, medical/dental/vision, life/disability, flexible spending, bonuses/incentives, stock-based long-term incentives, time-off, and remote/hybrid where possible.
