What You Will Do
- Provide clinical knowledge of products to medical professionals and help them navigate the complex payer environment.
- Act as primary customer contact and implement marketing strategy to promote Amgen products (as led by the District Manager).
Responsibilities
- Communicate clinical benefits to drive appropriate product utilization.
- Drive territory sales by delivering branded messages, executing planned programs, scheduling/following up on medical educational programs, and meeting/exceeding sales targets (in-person and virtual).
- Build and manage accounts: tailor customer interactions to needs, ensure product access, resolve/triage reimbursement issues, and maintain product contracts.
- Provide feedback on marketing strategy; analyze sales/territory effectiveness and develop territory plans with the District Manager.
- Share best practices and continuously learn/grow as a Senior Specialty Representative.
- Sustain product passion throughout the sales cycle, building the brand with patient impact forefront.
- Uphold science-based, ethical, quality-focused Amgen values.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications — Specialty Representative
- Bachelor’s degree OR
- Associate’s degree + 4 years of Sales OR
- High school diploma/GED + 6 years of Sales
Basic Qualifications — Senior Specialty Representative
- Bachelor’s degree + 3 years sales and/or clinical experience (healthcare/scientific, not sales-related) OR
- Associate’s degree + 6 years sales and/or clinical experience (healthcare/scientific, not sales-related) OR
- High school diploma/GED + 8 years sales and/or clinical experience (healthcare/scientific, not sales-related)
Preferred Qualifications
- 3+ years pharmaceutical/biotech/medical device sales; product or hospital sales in oncology, nephrology, dermatology, rheumatology, inflammation, cardiology, neurology, endocrinology, hepatology, gastroenterology, or infectious diseases
- Local market knowledge; established territory relationships
- Bachelor’s in Life Sciences or Business Administration
- Adaptability to core competencies (planning/organizing, technical knowledge, impactful communication, results, relationship building)
