What You Will Do
- Provide clinical knowledge to medical professionals and help navigate the complex payer environment.
- Implement marketing strategy and promote Amgen products (as led by the District Manager).
Responsibilities include:
- Provide comprehensive knowledge of Amgen products and communicate clinical benefits to drive appropriate utilization.
- Achieve territory sales by delivering branded messages, conducting planned programs, and scheduling/following up on medical educational programs; achieve/exceed sales targets through in-person and virtual engagement.
- Develop/manage accounts by tailoring discussions to customer needs, ensuring product access, resolving/triaging reimbursement issues, and maintaining product contracts.
- Provide feedback on marketing strategy; analyze sales activity and territory performance; develop territory plans with the District Manager.
- Share best practices and continuously learn/grow.
- Sustain passion for products throughout the sales cycle, building the brand with patient impact at the forefront.
- Uphold Amgen values (science-based, ethical, quality, teamwork, collaboration, accountability).
Basic Qualifications — Specialty Representative:
- Bachelor’s degree OR Associate’s degree + 4 years sales OR High school diploma/GED + 6 years sales.
Basic Qualifications — Senior Specialty Representative:
- Bachelor’s degree + 3 years sales and/or clinical experience in healthcare/scientific field (non-sales) OR Associate’s degree + 6 years OR High school diploma/GED + 8 years.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 3+ years sales in pharma/biotech/medical devices; product or hospital sales in relevant specialties (e.g., oncology, cardiology, inflammation, infectious diseases, etc.); local market knowledge; established territory relationships; Bachelor’s in Life Sciences or Business Administration; adaptability with planning/organizing, business/technical knowledge, communication, results, and relationship-building.
