What You Will Do
- Serve as primary customer contact by providing clinical knowledge to medical professionals and helping them navigate the payer environment.
- Implement marketing strategy and promote Amgen products (as led by the District Manager).
Responsibilities
- Provide current, comprehensive product knowledge and communicate clinical benefits to drive appropriate utilization.
- Achieve territory sales targets by delivering branded sales messages, conducting planned programs, scheduling and following up on medical educational programs, and engaging in-person and virtually.
- Develop and manage accounts: tailor discussions to customer needs, ensure product access, resolve/triage reimbursement issues, and maintain product contracts.
- Provide feedback on marketing strategy; analyze effectiveness of sales activities and territory performance; develop territory plans with the District Manager.
- Share best practices and continuously learn/grow as a Senior Specialty Representative.
- Sustain product passion throughout the sales cycle, building the brand with patient impact forefront.
- Uphold Amgen values (science-based, ethical, quality, teamwork, collaboration, accountability).
Basic Qualifications (Specialty Representative)
- Bachelor’s degree OR
- Associate’s degree + 4 years sales experience OR
- High school diploma/GED + 6 years sales experience
Basic Qualifications (Senior Specialty Representative)
- Bachelor’s degree + 3 years sales and/or non-sales clinical/healthcare/scientific experience OR
- Associate degree + 6 years sales and/or non-sales clinical/healthcare/scientific experience OR
- High school diploma/GED + 8 years sales and/or non-sales clinical/healthcare/scientific experience
Preferred Qualifications
- 3+ years pharmaceutical/biotech/medical device product or hospital sales (oncology, cardiology, etc.)
- Local market knowledge; established territory relationships
- Bachelor’s in Life Sciences or Business Administration
- Adaptability with core competencies (planning, leveraging technical knowledge, communicating with impact, driving results, cultivating relationships)
