Role Summary

Specialty Representative/Senior Specialty Representative (Cardiovascular) provides clinical knowledge of Amgen's products to medical professionals, acts as the primary customer contact, and implements marketing strategy under the District Manager to achieve territory sales.

Responsibilities

  • Provide current and comprehensive clinical knowledge of Amgen's products and effectively communicate the clinical and economic benefits of the products to medical professionals.
  • Perform as a sales leader to achieve territory sales by implementing and delivering branded sales messages strategies, delivering branded sales messages, implementing planned programs, scheduling and following up with medical educational programs, and achieving or exceeding sales targets.
  • Utilize internal and external relationships to service and manage accounts, including ensuring product access, resolving/triaging reimbursement issues, and maintaining product contracts.
  • Analyze business effectiveness of sales activities and territory analysis, and develop territory plans with the District Manager.
  • Maintain passion for our products throughout the sales cycle while building the brand and serving patients.
  • Partner with colleagues to share best practices and continually learn to grow as a Senior Specialist Representative.
  • Leverage disease state awareness, industry, regulatory and competitive changes to deliver results.

Qualifications

  • Required (Specialty Representative): Bachelor's degree OR Associate's degree with 4 years of sales experience OR High school diploma/GED with 6 years of sales experience.
  • Required (Senior Specialty Representative): Bachelor's degree with 3 years of sales experience and/or clinical experience in healthcare/scientific field not sales related OR Associate degree with 6 years of sales experience and/or clinical experience in healthcare/scientific field not sales related OR High school diploma/GED with 8 years of sales experience and/or clinical experience in healthcare/scientific field not sales related.
  • Preferred: Three or more years of sales experience within pharmaceutical/biotech/medical device industries; product or hospital sales experience in oncology, nephrology, dermatology, rheumatology, inflammation, cardiology, neurology, endocrinology, hepatology, gastroenterology or infectious diseases; local market knowledge; established relationships in the territory; Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences or Business Administration; adaptability with core competencies (planning and organizing; leveraging knowledge; communicating with impact; driving for results; cultivating relationships).
