What You Will Do
- Provide clinical knowledge of Amgen products to medical professionals and help navigate the complex payer environment.
- Implement marketing strategy and promote Amgen products as led by the District Manager.
Responsibilities
- Provide current, comprehensive product knowledge and effectively communicate clinical benefits to drive appropriate utilization.
- Perform as a sales leader to achieve territory sales by delivering branded sales messages; conducting planned programs; scheduling and following up on medical educational programs; and achieving or exceeding sales targets via in-person and virtual engagement.
- Develop relationships to service and manage accounts: customize discussions to customer needs, ensure product access, resolve/triage reimbursement issues, and maintain product contracts.
- Provide feedback on marketing strategy; analyze effectiveness of sales activities/territory performance; develop territory plans with the District Manager.
- Partner with colleagues to share best practices and continuously learn/grow.
- Sustain passion for Amgen products throughout the sales cycle, building the brand while keeping patient impact forefront.
- Uphold Amgen values (science-based, ethical, quality, teamwork, accountability).
Basic Qualifications — Specialty Representative
- Bachelor’s degree OR Associate’s degree + 4 years sales experience OR High school diploma/GED + 6 years sales experience.
Basic Qualifications — Senior Specialty Representative
- Bachelor’s degree + 3 years sales and/or healthcare/scientific clinical experience (non-sales) OR Associate degree + 6 years (non-sales) OR High school diploma/GED + 8 years (non-sales).
Preferred Qualifications
- 3+ years sales in pharma/biotech/medical device; product/hospital sales in relevant specialty areas (e.g., oncology, inflammation, cardiology, etc.).
- Local market knowledge; established territory relationships; Life Sciences or Business degree; adaptability to core competencies.
