SPECIALTY REPRESENTATIVE / SENIOR SPECIALTY REPRESENTATIVE
What You Will Do
- Serve as the primary customer contact by providing clinical knowledge to medical professionals and helping them navigate the payer environment.
- Implement marketing strategy and promote Amgen products as led by the District Manager.
Responsibilities
- Provide current, comprehensive knowledge of Amgen products and effectively communicate clinical benefits to medical professionals to drive appropriate utilization.
- Achieve territory sales by delivering branded sales messages, conducting planned programs, scheduling and following up on medical educational programs, and meeting/exceeding sales targets via in-person and virtual engagement.
- Develop and manage accounts; customize customer interactions based on needs, ensure product access, resolve/triage reimbursement issues, and maintain product contracts.
- Provide feedback on marketing strategy; analyze sales activity business effectiveness and territory analysis; develop territory plans with the District Manager.
- Partner with colleagues to share best practices and continuously learn/grow.
- Demonstrate and sustain passion for products throughout the sales cycle while building the brand and prioritizing patient service.

Basic Qualifications
Specialty Representative
- Bachelor’s degree OR
- Associate’s degree and 4 years of sales experience OR
- High school diploma/GED and 6 years of sales experience
Senior Specialty Representative
- Bachelor’s degree and 3 years of sales experience OR
- Associate degree and 6 years of sales experience OR
- High school diploma/GED and 8 years of sales experience
Preferred Qualifications
- Sales, marketing, and/or clinical experience in pharmaceutical, biotech, diagnostics, healthcare insurance, pharmacy services, healthcare medical device, or medical supply industries.
- For Specialty Representative: some experience and/or pre-graduate sales training and/or proven track record of successful leadership under pressure.
- For Senior Specialty Representative: 3+ years of experience preferred.
- Product or hospital sales experience in therapeutic areas including oncology, cardiology, inflammation, nephrology, dermatology, rheumatology, neurology, endocrinology, hepatology, gastroenterology, bone health, respiratory, hematology, or infectious diseases (and related treatments).
- Advanced influencing and relationship-building skills focused on sales outcomes.
- Local market knowledge.
- Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences or Business Administration.
- Adaptability with core competencies: Sales Planning and Organizing; Leveraging Business/Industry/Technical Knowledge; Communicating with Impact; Driving for Results; Cultivating Internal and External Relationships.
Compensation/Benefits (as stated)
- Annual base salary range (U.S.): Specialty Representative $89,880–$121,602; Senior Specialty Representative $115,036–$155,638.
