Role Summary

Field-based Specialty Representative, Rheumatology serving Pensacola, FL and Mobile, AL. Responsible for executing brand strategy and tactics in the field, achieving sales performance targets, effectively managing assigned territory and targeted accounts, building strong customer relationships, and solving customer needs to maximize short- and long-term sales while placing the patient at the center of efforts and operating within AbbVie’s code of conduct and applicable laws and regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver sales performance, brand KPIs, financial targets, and marketing objectives to meet or exceed those objectives.
  • Create pre-call plans with SMART objectives and execute post-call evaluation to improve sales performance; handle objections and concerns to close on sales calls.
  • Proactively serve customer needs and expectations to build trusted relationships and achieve win-win agreements between AbbVie and customers.
  • Develop and execute a call plan to achieve metrics and optimize coverage and frequency to key customers to maximize access and sales opportunities.
  • Continuously build understanding of customer needs, territory landscape, competitors, market dynamics, and share market intelligence with in-field and brand teams to optimize strategy and execution.
  • Differentiate AbbVie’s value proposition with health providers and identify, develop, and maintain disease state experts and speakers/advocates to maximize brand performance.

Qualifications

  • Required: Bachelor’s degree in health, sciences, pharmacy, or business-related field preferred or relevant and equivalent industry experience required; if no bachelor’s degree, at least five (5) years of experience with three (3)+ years in pharmaceutical/health/science industry; high school diploma/GED required.
  • Required: Proven track record of success in selling and solid presentation skills; ability to identify customer style/behavior and adapt selling approach; provide innovative ideas to maximize opportunities and respond to changes.
  • Required: Influences others and is seen as credible; builds collaborative partnerships; leads by example and demonstrates positive behaviors in challenging environments.
  • Required: Documented leadership and increased responsibility at district/region/organizational levels; uses findings to develop sales strategies.
  • Preferred: Track record of sales success in respective therapeutic areas; experience in physician/account-based selling, training, managed health care, or marketing; English proficiency verbally and in writing (for non-English-speaking regions).
  • Required: Satisfy all applicable health care industry representative (HCIR) credentialing requirements to gain/maintain entry into facilities and organizations within the territory; be in good standing or eligible to obtain these credentials.
  • Required: HCIR credentialing may include background checks, drug screens, immunizations, fingerprinting, and state/city licenses; candidate is responsible for meeting all requirements; AbbVie provides resources to assist.
  • Required: Demonstrates in-depth scientific, therapeutic, product, and competitive knowledge; strong business acumen; ability to operate effectively in a matrix environment.
  • Required: Valid driver’s license and ability to pass pre-employment drug screening; ability to drive personal or company vehicle as needed.
