Role Summary

Specialty Representative, Rheumatology - Lafayette, LA. Field-based role serving Lafayette, Shreveport, Beaumont, Monroe, Alexandria and surrounding areas. Role involves executing brand strategy and tactics in the field, driving sales performance, managing territory and accounts, and placing the patient at the center of AbbVie’s efforts while adhering to all applicable laws and regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver sales performance, brand KPIs, financial targets, and marketing objectives to meet or exceed goals.
  • Create pre-call plans with SMART objectives and conduct post-call evaluations to continuously improve performance; handle objections and close on sales calls.
  • Serve customer needs and expectations to build trusted relationships and achieve win-win agreements.
  • Develop and execute call plans to optimize coverage and frequency with key customers to maximize access and sales opportunities.
  • Maintain market intelligence on customer needs, territory landscape, competitors, market segments, accounts, disease states, products, and sales expertise; share insights with in-field and brand teams to align and optimize strategy.
  • Differentiate AbbVie’s value proposition, identify and maintain disease-state experts and speakers/advocates to maximize brand performance.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in health, sciences, pharmacy or business-related field preferred or equivalent industry experience required
  • At least five years of relevant industry experience; three or more years in pharmaceutical/health/science industries preferred; high school diploma/GED required
  • Strong scientific, therapeutic, product, and competitive knowledge; strategic and critical thinking; adept at operating in a matrix environment
  • Proven sales success, strong presentation skills, and ability to adapt selling approach to customer style
  • Credible, collaborative leader with the ability to coach and influence peers
  • Demonstrated leadership and ability to assume increased responsibility across districts/regions
  • Preferred: sales success in the therapeutic area; experience in physician/account-based selling, training, managed care or marketing; English proficiency
  • Must meet HCIR credentialing requirements to gain access to facilities; ability to obtain and maintain required credentials
