Role Summary
Field-based Specialty Representative for Psychiatry in the Warren, OH area. Responsible for executing brand strategy and tactics in the field, delivering sales performance, managing territory and targeted accounts, and building strong customer relationships to maximize short and long-term sales while adhering to AbbVie’s code of conduct and all applicable laws.
Responsibilities
- Deliver sales performance, brand KPIs, financial targets, and marketing objectives to meet or exceed established goals.
- Create pre-call plan objectives and execute post-call evaluations to continuously improve sales performance; handle objections and close calls effectively.
- Proactively address customer needs and challenges to build trusted relationships and achieve win–win agreements.
- Develop and execute a call plan that achieves set metrics and optimizes coverage and frequency to key customers to maximize access and sales opportunities.
- Continuously build understanding of customer needs, territory landscape, competitors, market segments, accounts, disease state, product, clinical and sales expertise; share market intelligence with in-field and brand teams to align and optimize strategy.
- Differentiate AbbVie’s value proposition with health providers; identify and maintain disease state experts and speakers/advocates to maximize brand performance.
- Drive operation of a personal or company vehicle and, if applicable, use of powered equipment as required.
Qualifications
- Required: Bachelor’s degree in health, sciences, pharmacy or business-related field or equivalent industry experience; relevant industry experience in lieu of degree (minimum five years) with three or more years in pharmaceutical/health/science preferred; high school diploma/GED required.
- Required: Demonstrates in-depth scientific, therapeutic, product, and competitive knowledge; strong business acumen and strategic thinking; ability to operate effectively in a matrix environment.
- Required: Proactive ability to identify customer style/behavior and adapt selling approach; ability to develop sales strategies from findings; credible and respected resource among peers; strong collaboration skills.
- Preferred: Proven track record of sales success in respective therapeutic areas; experience in physician/account-based selling, training, managed health care or marketing; English proficiency (verbal and written).
- Required: Satisfy all applicable health care industry representative (HCIR) credentialing requirements to gain and maintain access to facilities in the assigned territory; in good standing or eligible to obtain credentials; background checks, drug screens, immunization proof, fingerprinting, and state/city licenses as required.
- Required: Valid driver’s license and ability to pass pre-employment drug screening and meet safe driving requirements.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in health, sciences, pharmacy or business-related field preferred or relevant and equivalent industry experience required; high school diploma/GED required if applicable.
Additional Requirements
- Health care industry credentialing requirements (HCIR) enforcement and ongoing compliance to maintain access to facilities and organizations within the territory.
