This role is field-based; candidates should live within a reasonable distance from the primary city.

Responsibilities:
- Execute brand strategy and tactics in the field to maximize short- and long-term sales performance.
- Effectively manage assigned territory and targeted accounts; build strong customer relationships and solve customer needs.
- Deliver sales performance, brand KPIs, financial targets, and marketing objectives.
- Create pre-call plans; perform post-call evaluations to continuously improve sales performance.
- Handle objections and concerns; consistently secure logical and reasonable calls to action to close sales calls.
- Develop and execute a call plan to achieve call metrics and optimize coverage/frequency for key customers.
- Build knowledge of customer needs, territory market landscape, competitors, market segments/dynamics, accounts, disease, products, and clinical/sales expertise; share market intelligence with internal teams to align and optimize strategy.
- Differentiate AbbVie’s value proposition; identify, develop, and maintain disease-state experts and speakers/advocates.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in health, sciences, pharmacy, or business-related field preferred; relevant/equivalent industry experience required.
- If no bachelor’s degree: at least 5 years’ experience in the pharmaceutical/health/science industry (3+ years preferred); high school diploma/GED required.
- Proven leadership success and solid presentation skills; strong business acumen and proficiency with business tools; strategic/critical thinking.
- Ability to adapt selling approach based on customer behavior; effective in a matrix environment.

Preferred:
- Sales performance success within respective therapeutic areas.
- Commercial pharmaceutical experience (physician/account-based selling, training, managed health care, or marketing).
- In-depth scientific/therapeutic/product/competitive knowledge; recognized as an expert resource.
- English proficiency verbally and in writing (for non-English speaking countries).

Requirements:
- Satisfy all applicable HCIR credentialing requirements to enter/maintain facility access in the assigned territory (may include background checks, drug screens, immunization proof, fingerprinting, etc.).
- Valid driver’s license; ability to pass pre-employment drug screening and meet safe driving requirements; drive personal or company vehicle or powered equipment.
