Field-based role; candidates should live within a reasonable distance from the primary city. Execute brand strategy and tactics in the field to maximize short- and long-term sales performance, managing assigned territory and targeted accounts; build strong customer relationships and solve customer needs while operating in compliance with AbbVie policies and applicable laws.

Responsibilities:
- Deliver sales performance, brand KPIs, financial targets, and marketing objectives.
- Create pre-call plans; conduct post-call evaluations to continuously improve performance; handle objections and close with logical, reasonable calls to action.
- Serve customer needs and build trusted relationships; achieve win-win agreements.
- Develop and execute call plans to meet call metrics and optimize coverage/frequency.
- Build understanding of customer needs, territory market landscape, competitors, segments/dynamics, accounts, and disease/product/clinical expertise; share intelligence with in-field team, brand team, and sales manager.
- Differentiate AbbVie’s value proposition; identify, develop, and maintain disease-state experts and speakers/advocates.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in health/sciences/pharmacy/business preferred (or relevant equivalent experience required).
- Experience: at least 5 years (3+ years in pharmaceutical/health/science preferred) if no bachelor’s; high school diploma/GED.
- In-depth scientific/therapeutic/product/competitive knowledge; strong business acumen; strategic/critical thinking.
- Proven sales success and presentation skills; operates effectively in a matrix environment.
- Leads by example; influences and coaches peers.
- Preferred: sales performance success in relevant therapeutic areas; physician/account-based selling, training, managed health care, or marketing experience.
- Required: satisfy HCIR credentialing requirements; good standing/eligibility.
- Valid driver’s license; ability to pass pre-employment drug screening and meet safe driving requirements.
