Role Summary
Field-based Psychiatry Specialty Representative serving Gainesville, FL and Ocala, FL. Execute brand strategy and tactics in the field, drive sales performance, and manage an assigned territory and targeted accounts. Build strong customer relationships and address customer needs to maximize short- and long-term sales while operating within AbbVie’s code of conduct and all applicable laws. Candidates must live within a reasonable distance from the primary city, and compensation will reflect experience.
Responsibilities
- Deliver sales performance, brand KPIs, financial targets, and marketing objectives to meet or exceed targets.
- Create pre-call plan objectives and perform post-call evaluations to continuously improve sales performance; effectively handle objections and concerns and secure calls to action to close on every sales call.
- Proactively and continuously serve customer needs, expectations, and challenges to build trusted customer relationships and achieve win-win agreements between AbbVie and customers.
- Develop and execute a call plan that achieves set call metrics and optimizes coverage and frequency to key customers to maximize access and sales opportunities.
- Continuously build understanding of customer needs, territory landscape, competitors, market dynamics, accounts, disease states, products, and clinical and sales expertise; share market intelligence with in-field team, brand team, and sales manager to align and optimize brand strategy.
- Differentiate AbbVie’s value proposition with health providers; identify, develop, and maintain disease-state experts and speakers/advocates to maximize brand performance.
- Drive required transportation to access customer sites and perform duties, including operating a personal or company vehicle as needed.
Qualifications
- Required: At least five years of relevant/equivalent industry experience; high school diploma/GED required; in lieu of a bachelor’s degree, at least five years of experience with three or more years in the pharmaceutical/health/science industry preferred.
- Required: In-depth scientific, therapeutic, product, and competitive knowledge; recognized as an expert resource by stakeholders; strong business acumen; proficient with business tools; strategic and critical thinking capabilities.
- Required: Proactively identifies customer style/behavior and adapts selling approaches; leverages findings to develop sales strategies; offers innovative ideas and solutions to maximize opportunities.
- Required: Provides impact with ideas for the larger organization; anticipates and responds to changes; operates effectively in a matrix environment.
- Required: Influences others; credible and respected role model; builds collaborative partnerships with district colleagues and matrix teams.
- Required: Leads by example; demonstrates positive behaviors and peer coaching; documented leadership and increased responsibility at district/region/organizational levels.
- Preferred: Proven track record of sales performance within respective therapeutic areas; commercial pharmaceutical experience (physician/account-based selling, training, managed health care or marketing) preferred; English language proficiency verbally and in writing (for non-English speaking countries).
- Required: Satisfy all health care industry representative (HCIR) credentialing requirements to gain and maintain entry into facilities and organizations in the assigned territory; in good standing and/or eligible to obtain these credentials.
- Required: HCIR credentialing requirements may include background checks, drug screens, proof of immunization/vaccination, fingerprinting, and licenses required by state or city; you are responsible for satisfying all HCIR requirements; AbbVie provides resources as needed.
- Required: Valid driver’s license; ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening and meet safe driving requirements.
