Job Description (Field-based): Execute brand strategy and tactics in the field; manage assigned territory and targeted accounts; build strong customer relationships by solving customer needs; maximize short- and long-term sales performance while placing the patient at the center and operating in accordance with AbbVie’s business conduct, policies, and applicable laws.

- Deliver sales performance, brand KPIs, and meet or exceed financial targets and marketing objectives.
- Create pre-call plan objectives; perform post-call evaluations to continuously improve performance; handle objections and drive logical, reasonable calls to action to close sales.
- Proactively serve customer needs and expectations to build trusted relationships and achieve win-win agreements.
- Develop and execute call plans to meet call metrics and optimize coverage/frequency for key customers.
- Build and share market intelligence (customer needs, territory landscape, competitors, accounts, disease, product/clinical/sales expertise) to optimize brand strategy.
- Differentiate value proposition; identify, develop, and maintain disease state experts and speakers/advocates.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in health/sciences/pharmacy/business preferred; or equivalent experience required.
- If no bachelor’s: 5+ years relevant industry experience (3+ years in pharmaceutical/health/science preferred) with HS/GED required.
- Leadership and presentation skills; strong business acumen and strategic/critical thinking.
- Ability to adapt selling approach; effective in a matrix environment.
- Preferred: sales success in therapeutic areas; experience with physician/account-based selling, training, managed health care, or marketing; in-depth scientific/therapeutic/product/competitive knowledge.
- Preferred: English proficiency verbally and in writing (for non-English speaking countries).
- HCIR credentialing requirements to enter facilities; must be in good standing/eligible.
- Valid driver’s license; pass pre-employment drug screen and meet safe driving requirements.
