Field-based role: candidates should live within a reasonable distance from the primary city.

Responsibilities
- Execute brand strategy and tactics in the field; manage assigned territory and targeted accounts.
- Deliver sales performance, brand KPIs, and financial/marketing objectives; meet or exceed targets.
- Create pre-call plan objectives and execute post-call evaluation to continuously improve sales performance; handle objections and close sales calls.
- Serve customer needs and expectations to build trusted relationships and reach win-win agreements.
- Develop and execute call plans to achieve call metrics and optimize coverage/frequency for key customers.
- Build and share market intelligence (customer needs, territory landscape, competitors, segments/dynamics, accounts, disease, product, clinical and sales expertise) to optimize brand strategy execution.
- Differentiate AbbVie’s value proposition; identify, develop, and maintain disease-state experts and speakers/advocates.
- Drive a personal auto or company vehicle (or powered material handling equipment).

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in health, sciences, pharmacy, or business-related field preferred; relevant and equivalent industry experience required.
- If no bachelor’s: at least 5 years experience with 3+ years in pharmaceutical/health/science industry preferred; high school diploma/GED required.
- In-depth scientific/therapeutic/product/competitive knowledge; strong business acumen and strategic/critical thinking; expert resource to stakeholders.
- Ability to adapt selling approach based on customer behavior; leverage findings to develop sales strategies.
- Ability to operate in a matrix environment; influence and be a credible peer leader.
- Preferred: proven sales performance track record in therapeutic areas; experience with physician/account-based selling, training, managed health care, or marketing; English proficiency verbally and in writing.
- Satisfy all HCIR credentialing requirements to enter facilities/organizations in assigned territory (may include background checks, drug screens, immunization proof, fingerprinting, and licenses).
- Valid driver’s license; pass pre-employment drug screening and meet safe driving requirements.
