Role Summary
Specialty Representative, Migraine based in Waterbury, CT. Field-based role requiring residence within a reasonable distance from the primary city. Position level will be aligned with experience.
Responsibilities
- Deliver sales performance, brand KPIs, financial targets, and marketing objectives to meet or exceed set goals.
- Create pre-call plan objectives and conduct post-call evaluations to continuously improve sales performance; handle objections and concerns to close on sales calls.
- Proactively serve customer needs and expectations to build trusted relationships and achieve win-win agreements between AbbVie and customers.
- Develop and execute call plans that optimize coverage and frequency to key customers to maximize access and sales opportunities.
- Gain and share market intelligence on customer needs, territory landscape, competitors, market segments, disease states, and product/sales dynamics with in-field and brand teams to align strategies.
- Differentiate AbbVie’s value proposition with health providers and develop disease state experts and speakers/advocates to maximize brand performance.
Qualifications
- Required: Bachelor’s degree in health, sciences, pharmacy or business-related field preferred or equivalent industry experience; if no bachelor’s degree, at least five (5) years of industry experience with three (3)+ years in pharmaceutical/health/science preferred; high school diploma/GED required.
- Required: Demonstrates in-depth scientific, therapeutic, product, and competitive knowledge; strong business acumen and proficiency with business tools; strategic and critical thinking capabilities.
- Required: Proactive in identifying customer styles/behaviors and adapting selling approaches; ability to develop sales strategies from findings.
- Required: Proven track record in selling with solid presentation skills; ability to operate effectively in a matrix environment; contributes innovative ideas to maximize opportunities and respond to changes.
- Required: Influences others and is regarded as a credible, respected resource; builds collaborative partnerships with district colleagues and matrix teams.
- Required: Leads by example with positive behavior and peer coaching; documented leadership and increased responsibility at district/region levels.
- Preferred: Proven sales success in respective therapeutic areas; experience in physician/account-based selling, training, managed health care, or marketing; English proficiency in both speaking and writing.
- Required: Satisfactory HCIR credentialing to gain/maintain entry into facilities and organizations in the assigned territory; in good standing or eligible to obtain credentials.
- Required: Satisfy background checks, drug screens, immunizations, fingerprinting, and state/city licensing as applicable; responsibility for ensuring HCIR requirements are met.
- Required: Valid driver’s license and ability to pass pre-employment drug screening; comfortable driving personal or company vehicle and/or operating required equipment.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in health, sciences, pharmacy or business-related field preferred or equivalent industry experience required; high school diploma/GED required if no bachelor’s degree.
