Role Summary
This field-based Specialty Representative for Migraine will execute brand strategy and tactics in the field, manage the assigned territory and targeted accounts, and build strong customer relationships. The role focuses on maximizing short- and long-term sales performance with a patient-centered approach, operating within AbbVie’s code of conduct and applicable laws and regulations.
Responsibilities
- Deliver sales performance, brand KPIs, financial targets, and marketing objectives to meet or exceed defined targets.
- Create pre-call plans and post-call evaluations to continuously improve sales performance; handle objections and concerns to drive calls to action and close on sales calls.
- Aspire to serve customer needs and expectations to build trusted relationships and achieve win-win agreements between AbbVie and customers.
- Develop and execute a call plan that achieves set call metrics and optimizes coverage and frequency to key customers to maximize access and sales opportunities.
- Continuously build understanding of customer needs, territory landscape, competitors, market segments, disease state, and product knowledge; share market intelligence with in-field and brand teams to optimize strategy and execution.
- Differentiate AbbVie’s value proposition with health providers and identify, develop, and maintain disease state experts and speakers/advocates to maximize brand performance.
Qualifications
- Required: High school diploma/GED; Bachelor’s degree in health, sciences, pharmacy or business-related field preferred or relevant equivalent industry experience. In lieu of a bachelor’s degree, at least five (5) years of experience with three (3) or more years in the pharmaceutical/health/science industry; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Required: Proven leadership and presentation skills; strong business acumen and proficiency with business tools; strategic and critical thinking abilities.
- Required: Ability to identify customer style/behavior and adapt selling approaches; able to operate effectively in a matrix environment.
- Preferred: Proven track record of sales success within the relevant therapeutic areas.
- Preferred: Experience in physician/account-based selling, training, managed health care, or marketing.
- Preferred: In-depth scientific, therapeutic, product, and competitive knowledge; recognized as an expert resource by stakeholders.
- Preferred: English language proficiency (verbal and written).
- Required: Satisfy all applicable health care industry representative (HCIR) credentialing requirements to gain/maintain entry into facilities in the assigned territory, and be in good standing or eligible to obtain credentials.
- Required: Driving a personal auto or company car; valid driver’s license; ability to pass pre-employment drug screening and meet safe driving requirements.
