This role is field-based; candidates should live within a reasonable distance from the primary city.

Responsibilities:
- Execute brand strategy and tactics in the field; effectively manage assigned territory and targeted accounts; build strong customer relationships and solve customer needs to maximize short- and long-term sales performance while placing the patient at the center and complying with AbbVie’s code of conduct, policies, and all applicable laws.
- Deliver sales performance, brand KPIs, and financial/marketing objectives to meet or exceed targets.
- Create pre-call plans and execute post-call evaluations to continuously improve performance; handle objections and gain logical, reasonable calls to action to close sales.
- Proactively serve customer needs and challenges to build trusted relationships and reach win-win agreements.
- Develop and execute a call plan to achieve call metrics and optimize coverage/frequency to key customers.
- Build understanding of customer needs, territory market landscape, competitors, disease/product knowledge, and share intelligence with the in-field team, brand team, and sales manager to optimize brand strategy execution.
- Differentiate AbbVie’s value proposition; identify, develop, and maintain disease-state experts and speakers/advocates.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in health/sciences/pharmacy/business preferred (or relevant/equivalent industry experience required).
- If no bachelor’s degree: 5+ years relevant industry experience (3+ years preferred) in pharmaceutical/health/science; high school diploma/GED required.
- Proven leadership success and presentation skills; strong business acumen and strategic/critical thinking; proficient use of business tools.
- Ability to identify customer behavior and adapt selling approach; effective in a matrix environment.
- Preferred: Sales success in relevant therapeutic areas; commercial pharmaceutical experience (physician/account-based selling, training, managed health care, or marketing); in-depth scientific/therapeutic/product/competitive knowledge recognized as an expert resource; English proficiency for non-English-speaking countries.
- Must satisfy HCIR credentialing requirements; good standing/eligibility to obtain credentials (may include background checks, drug screens, immunization/vaccination proof, fingerprinting).
- Valid driver’s license; ability to pass pre-employment drug screening and meet safe driving requirements; drive personal or company vehicle/equipment.
