Responsibilities:
- Execute brand strategy and tactics in the field to maximize short- and long-term sales performance, placing the patient at the center and operating in compliance with company code of conduct, policies, and applicable laws.
- Deliver sales performance, brand KPIs, financial targets, and marketing objectives.
- Create pre-call plans and conduct post-call evaluations to improve performance; handle objections and consistently drive logical, reasonable calls to action to close sales.
- Build trusted customer relationships by proactively addressing customer needs, expectations, and challenges; achieve win-win agreements.
- Develop and execute call plans that meet call metrics and optimize coverage/frequency to key customers.
- Build and share market intelligence (customer needs, territory landscape, competitors, market dynamics, accounts, disease/product/clinical and sales expertise) with in-field team, brand team, and sales manager to align strategy.
- Differentiate AbbVie’s value proposition; identify, develop, and maintain disease state experts and speakers/advocates.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in health, sciences, pharmacy, or business preferred; relevant equivalent industry experience required.
- If no bachelor’s degree: at least 5 years experience; 3+ years in the pharmaceutical/health/science industry preferred; high school diploma/GED required.
- Proven leadership success and strong presentation skills; strong business acumen, business tools proficiency, strategic/critical thinking.
- Ability to adapt selling approach based on customer behavior; effective in a matrix environment.
- Preferred: success in sales performance within therapeutic areas; physician/account-based selling, training, managed health care, or marketing experience.
- Preferred: in-depth scientific/therapeutic/product/competitive knowledge; recognized as an expert resource.
- Preferred: English proficiency (verbal and written) for non-English-speaking countries.
- Ability to satisfy HCIR credentialing requirements (may include background checks, drug screens, immunization/vaccination proof, fingerprinting).
- Valid driver’s license; ability to pass pre-employment drug screening and meet safe driving requirements (driving personal auto, company vehicle, or powered equipment).
