Role Summary

Specialty Representative, Migraine - Orlando, FL. This field-based role executes brand strategy and tactics in the field, drives sales performance, and manages the assigned territory and targeted accounts. The role focuses on building strong customer relationships, solving customer needs, and maximizing short- and long-term sales while operating within AbbVie’s code of conduct, policies, and applicable laws and regulations. The candidate should live within a reasonable distance from the primary city.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver sales performance, brand KPIs, financial targets, and marketing objectives to meet or exceed those objectives.
  • Create pre-call plan objectives and execute post-call evaluations to continuously improve sales performance. Effectively handle objections and close on sales calls.
  • Proactively serve customer needs and challenges to build trusted relationships and achieve win-win agreements between AbbVie and customers.
  • Develop and execute a call plan that achieves set Call Metrics and optimizes coverage and frequency to key customers to maximize access and sales opportunities.
  • Continuously build understanding of customer needs, territory market landscape, competitors, market segments/dynamics, accounts, disease knowledge, and share market intelligence with in-field team, brand team, and sales manager to optimize brand strategy.
  • Differentiate AbbVie’s value proposition with health providers and identify, develop, and maintain disease state experts and speakers/advocates to maximize brand performance.

Qualifications

  • Required: Bachelor’s degree in health, sciences, pharmacy or business-related field preferred or relevant and equivalent industry experience required
  • Required: Relevant and equivalent industry experience in lieu of a bachelor’s degree is at least five (5) years, with three (3) or more years in the pharmaceutical/health/science industry; high school diploma/GED required
  • Required: Proven leadership and strong presentation skills; solid business acumen; proficient use of business tools; strategic and critical thinking capabilities
  • Required: Proactive in identifying customer style/behavior and adapting selling approach; able to operate in a matrix environment
  • Preferred: Proven track record of sales success in the relevant therapeutic areas
  • Preferred: Commercial pharmaceutical industry experience such as physician/account based selling, training, managed health care, or marketing
  • Preferred: In-depth scientific, therapeutic, product, and competitive knowledge; recognized as an expert resource
  • Preferred: English language proficiency (verbal and written) for non-English speaking countries
  • Required: Satisfy all HCIR credentialing requirements to gain and maintain entry into facilities within the assigned territory; in good standing or eligible to obtain these credentials
  • Required: Driving a personal auto or company vehicle; valid driver’s license; ability to pass pre-employment drug screen

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in health, sciences, pharmacy or business-related field preferred or relevant and equivalent industry experience required
  • High school diploma/GED required (in lieu of bachelor’s degree as applicable)

Additional Requirements

  • Health Care Industry Representative (HCIR) credentialing requirements to gain/maintain entry into facilities and organizations within the assigned territory; ability to satisfy background checks, drug screens, immunization proof, fingerprinting, and state/city-specific licenses
  • Driving a personal auto or company vehicle; valid driver’s license; ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening
