Role Summary

Specialty Representative, Migraine - Northern UT. This field-based role requires residing within a reasonable distance from the primary city. Talent will be hired at a level commensurate with experience.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver sales performance, brand KPIs, financial targets, and marketing objectives to meet or exceed those goals.
  • Create pre-call plan objectives and post-call evaluations to improve sales performance; handle objections and concerns to close on every sales call.
  • Serve customer needs and expectations to build trusted relationships and achieve win-win agreements between AbbVie and customers.
  • Develop and execute call plans that achieve metrics and optimize coverage and frequency with key customers to maximize access and sales opportunities.
  • Build understanding of customer needs, territory landscape, competitors, market segments, accounts, disease, product, clinical and sales knowledge; share market intelligence with in-field and brand teams to align and optimize brand strategy.
  • Differentiate AbbVie’s value proposition with health providers and identify and maintain disease state experts and speakers/advocates to maximize brand performance.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in health, sciences, pharmacy or business-related field preferred or equivalent industry experience required
  • Equivalent experience: at least five (5) years in lieu of degree, with three (3)+ years in pharmaceutical/health/science industry preferred; high school diploma/GED required
  • Identifies customer style/behavior and adapts selling approach; uses findings to develop sales strategies
  • Operates effectively in a matrix environment; contributes innovative ideas to maximize opportunities and responds to changes
  • Demonstrates in-depth scientific, therapeutic, product, and competitive knowledge; strong business acumen; credible, respected resource; builds partnerships with district and matrix teams
  • Leads by example; demonstrates positive behaviors and peer coaching in changing environments; prior leadership or increased responsibility at district/region level
  • Preferred: proven sales success in relevant therapeutic areas; pharmaceutical industry experience in physician/account-based selling, training, managed care or marketing; English proficiency
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to meet safe driving requirements
  • Must satisfy health care industry representative (HCIR) credentialing requirements to enter facilities and stay in the territory; may include background checks, drug screens, immunizations, fingerprinting, and state/city licenses
