Job Description:
This role is field-based; candidates should live within a reasonable distance from the primary city.

Responsibilities:
- Execute brand strategy and tactics in the field; manage assigned territory and targeted accounts.
- Deliver sales performance, brand KPIs, financial targets, and marketing objectives.
- Create pre-call plan objectives and perform post-call evaluation to continuously improve; handle objections and consistently close sales calls with logical, reasonable calls to action.
- Build trusted customer relationships by proactively serving customer needs and expectations; achieve win-win agreements.
- Develop and execute a call plan to meet call metrics and optimize coverage and frequency to key customers.
- Understand customer needs and expectations; territory market landscape, competitors, segments/dynamics, accounts, disease, and product/clinical/sales expertise; share intelligence with in-field team, brand team, and sales manager to align strategy.
- Differentiate AbbVie’s value proposition with assigned health providers; identify, develop, and maintain disease state experts and speakers/advocates.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in health/sciences/pharmacy/business preferred; or equivalent relevant experience required.
- If no bachelor’s degree: at least 5 years’ experience (3+ years preferred) in the pharmaceutical/health/science industry; high school diploma/GED required.
- In-depth scientific/therapeutic/product/competitive knowledge; strong business acumen and use of business tools; strategic and critical thinking.
- Adaptable selling approach; ability to identify customer behavior and develop sales strategies.
- Proven sales success with solid presentation skills; effective in matrix environments; ability to innovate and respond to changes.
- Influences others; credible and collaborative; leads by example and coaches peers.
- Preferred: proven sales performance in relevant therapeutic areas; physician/account-based selling, training, managed health care, or marketing experience; English proficiency verbally and in writing (for non-English-speaking countries).
- Satisfy all applicable HCIR credentialing requirements to enter facilities in assigned territory (may include background checks, drug screens, immunization/vaccination proof, fingerprinting).
- Valid driver’s license; ability to pass pre-employment drug screening and meet safe driving requirements.
