Job Responsibilities:
- Execute brand strategy and field tactics to drive sales performance.
- Manage assigned territory and targeted accounts; build strong customer relationships.
- Deliver sales performance, brand KPIs, financial targets, and marketing objectives.
- Create pre-call objectives, conduct post-call evaluations, and improve performance continuously.
- Handle objections and drive logical, reasonable calls to action to close on sales calls.
- Serve customer needs and expectations; build trusted relationships and win-win agreements.
- Develop and execute call plans to meet call metrics and optimize customer coverage and frequency.
- Understand customer needs, territory market landscape, competitors, market segments/dynamics, accounts, disease, and product/clinical/sales expertise; share intelligence with in-field team, brand team, and sales manager.
- Differentiate AbbVie’s value proposition; identify, develop, and maintain disease state experts and speakers/advocates.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in health, sciences, pharmacy, or business-related field preferred; relevant/equivalent industry experience required.
- In lieu of a bachelor’s degree: 5+ years experience (3+ years in pharmaceutical/health/science industry preferred) plus high school diploma/GED.
- Proven leadership success; strong presentation skills.
- Strong business acumen and strategic/critical thinking; proficient use of business tools.
- Ability to adapt selling approach based on customer behavior; effective in a matrix environment.
- Preferred: sales performance success within respective therapeutic areas.
- Preferred: physician/account-based selling, training, managed health care, or marketing experience.
- Preferred: in-depth scientific/therapeutic/product/competitive knowledge; recognized as an expert resource.
- Preferred: English proficiency verbally and in writing (for non-English speaking countries).
- Satisfy applicable HCIR credentialing requirements for facility entry (may include background checks, drug screens, immunization/vaccination proof, fingerprinting, etc.).
- Valid driver’s license; ability to pass pre-employment drug screening and meet safe driving requirements; may drive personal or company vehicle or powered equipment.
