Responsibilities
- Execute brand strategy and tactics in the field; manage assigned territory and targeted accounts.
- Deliver sales performance, brand KPIs, financial targets, and marketing objectives.
- Create pre-call plan objectives; perform post-call evaluation to improve results; handle objections and close on sales calls.
- Proactively serve customer needs to build trusted relationships and reach win-win agreements.
- Develop and execute call plans to meet call metrics and optimize coverage/frequency for key customers.
- Build and share market intelligence (customer needs, territory landscape, competitors, disease, products, clinical/sales expertise) to align stakeholders and optimize brand strategy.
- Differentiate AbbVie’s value proposition; identify, develop, and maintain disease-state experts and speaker/advocates.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in health/sciences/pharmacy/business preferred; or equivalent industry experience required.
- If no bachelor’s: at least 5 years experience, with 3+ years in pharmaceutical/health/science preferred; high school diploma/GED required.
- Leadership success; strong presentation skills; business acumen; strategic/critical thinking; proficiency with business tools.
- Ability to adapt selling approach based on customer behavior; effective in a matrix environment.
- Preferred: proven sales performance in relevant therapeutic areas; physician/account-based selling, training, managed health care, or marketing experience.
- Preferred: in-depth scientific/therapeutic/product/competitive knowledge; recognized as an expert resource.
- Preferred: English proficiency (verbal and written) for non-English-speaking countries.
- Required: satisfy HCIR credentialing requirements to gain/maintain facility access (may include background checks, drug screens, immunization proof, fingerprinting, etc.).
- Valid driver’s license; pass pre-employment drug screening; meet safe driving requirements.
