Role Summary
Field-based Specialty Representative focusing on migraine products, responsible for executing brand strategy, driving sales, and building strong customer relationships within the Daytona Beach, FL area. Manage a defined territory and targeted accounts, align with AbbVie’s code of conduct and applicable laws, and place patients at the center of sales efforts. This role requires living within a reasonable distance from the primary city and travel as needed to meet coverage goals.
Responsibilities
- Deliver sales performance, brand KPIs, financial targets, and marketing objectives to meet or exceed those targets.
- Create pre-call plan objectives and post-call evaluation to continuously improve sales performance; effectively handle objections and close on calls.
- Proactively serve customer needs and build trusted relationships to achieve win-win agreements between AbbVie and customers.
- Develop and execute a call plan to achieve set call metrics and optimize coverage and frequency to key customers.
- Build understanding of customer needs, territory market landscape, competitors, market dynamics, accounts, disease knowledge, product and sales expertise; share market intelligence with in-field team, brand team, and sales manager to align and optimize brand strategy.
- Differentiate AbbVie’s value proposition with health providers and identify and maintain disease state experts and speakers/advocates to maximize brand performance.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in health, sciences, pharmacy or business-related field preferred or relevant and equivalent industry experience required; high school diploma/GED required if no degree.
- Five (5) years of equivalent industry experience required if no bachelor’s degree, with three (3) or more years of experience within the pharmaceutical/health/science industry preferred.
- Proven track record of leadership and solid presentation skills; strong business acumen and proficient use of business tools; strategic and critical thinking abilities.
- Proactively identifies customer style and behavior and adapts selling approach; operates effectively in a matrix environment.
- Preferred: Proven track record of success in sales performance within respective therapeutic areas.
- Preferred: Commercial pharmaceutical industry experiences such as physician/account based selling, training, managed health care or marketing.
- Preferred: Demonstrates in-depth scientific, therapeutic, product, and competitive knowledge and is recognized as an expert resource by relevant stakeholders.
- Preferred: English language proficiency verbally and in writing (for all non-English speaking countries).
- An essential requirement is to satisfy all applicable health care industry representative (HCIR) credentialing requirements to gain and maintain entry into facilities and organizations in the assigned territory; you must be in good standing and/or eligible to obtain these credentials.
- HCIR credentialing requirements may include background checks, drug screens, immunization/vaccination, fingerprinting, and state or city licenses; you are responsible for ensuring all requirements are satisfied.
- Driving a personal auto or company car or truck, or a powered piece of material handling equipment; valid driver’s license and ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening test and meet safe driving requirements.
