This role is field-based. Candidates should live within a reasonable distance from the primary city.
Responsibilities:
- Execute brand strategy and tactics in the field; manage assigned territory and targeted accounts.
- Deliver sales performance, brand KPIs, and financial targets/marketing objectives.
- Create pre-call plans and perform post-call evaluations to improve sales performance; handle objections to close.
- Proactively serve customer needs and build trusted relationships; achieve win-win agreements.
- Develop and execute call plans to meet call metrics and optimize coverage/frequency.
- Build understanding of customer needs, market/competitors, accounts, disease, and product/clinical/sales expertise; share insights to optimize brand strategy execution.
- Differentiate AbbVie’s value proposition and identify/develop/maintain disease state experts and speakers/advocates.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in health, sciences, pharmacy, or business (preferred); or equivalent industry experience.
- If no bachelor’s degree: at least 5 years’ experience in the pharmaceutical/health/science industry (3+ years preferred); high school diploma/GED.
- Proven leadership success and strong presentation skills; strategic/critical thinking; proficient use of business tools.
- Ability to adapt selling approach to customer behavior; effective in a matrix environment.
- Preferred: sales performance success in relevant therapeutic areas; physician/account-based selling and managed care/training/marketing experience; in-depth scientific/therapeutic/product/competitive knowledge.
- Preferred: English proficiency (verbal/written) for non-English-speaking countries.
- Satisfy HCIR credentialing requirements; valid driver’s license; pass pre-employment drug screening; meet safe driving requirements.
