Responsibilities:
- Execute brand strategy and tactics in the field; drive sales performance.
- Manage assigned territory and targeted accounts; build strong customer relationships.
- Deliver sales performance, brand KPIs, and financial targets/marketing objectives.
- Create pre-call plans; perform post-call evaluations to improve performance.
- Handle objections and close sales calls with clear next steps.
- Develop and execute call plans to meet call metrics and optimize coverage/frequency for key customers.
- Build and share market intelligence (customer needs, territory landscape, competitors, disease/product/clinical & sales expertise) to align brand strategy and execution.
- Differentiate AbbVie’s value proposition; identify, develop, and maintain disease state experts and speakers/advocates.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in health, sciences, pharmacy, or business preferred; or relevant/equivalent industry experience required.
- If no bachelor’s degree: at least 5 years of pharmaceutical/health/science industry experience preferred (3+ years preferred) and high school diploma/GED required.
- In-depth scientific/therapeutic/product/competitive knowledge; strong business acumen and strategic/critical thinking.
- Proven sales success and solid presentation skills; ability to operate in a matrix environment.
- Proactive customer-focused selling approach; adapt strategy based on customer behavior.
- Preferred: proven sales performance in relevant therapeutic areas; physician/account-based selling, training, managed health care, or marketing experience.
- English proficiency verbally and in writing (for non-English speaking countries).
- Meet all applicable HCIR (healthcare industry representative) credentialing requirements to enter facilities/organizations in assigned territory (may include background checks, drug screens, immunization/vaccination proof, fingerprinting).
- Valid driver’s license; ability to pass pre-employment drug screening and meet safe driving requirements.
