This role is field-based; candidates should live within a reasonable distance from the primary city.

Responsibilities:
- Execute brand strategy and tactics in the field; effectively manage assigned territory and targeted accounts; build strong customer relationships.
- Deliver sales performance, brand KPIs, financial targets, and marketing objectives.
- Create pre-call plans and perform post-call evaluations to continuously improve sales performance; handle objections and close sales calls.
- Proactively serve customer needs to build trusted relationships and achieve win-win agreements.
- Develop and execute call plans to meet call metrics and optimize coverage/frequency to key customers.
- Build understanding of customer needs, territory market landscape, competitors, market dynamics, accounts, disease/product, and share intelligence with the in-field team, brand team, and sales manager.
- Differentiate AbbVie’s value proposition and identify/develop/maintain disease state experts and speakers/advocates.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in health, sciences, pharmacy, or business-related field preferred; or relevant/equivalent industry experience required.
- In lieu of a bachelor’s degree: at least 5 years’ experience (3+ years preferred) in pharmaceutical/health/science; high school diploma/GED.
- Proven leadership success and presentation skills; strong business acumen and strategic/critical thinking.
- Ability to adapt selling approach; operates effectively in a matrix environment.
- Preferred: sales performance success in respective therapeutic areas; physician/account-based selling, training, managed health care, or marketing experience.
- Preferred: in-depth scientific/therapeutic/product/competitive knowledge; English proficiency (for non-English speaking countries).
- Meet all applicable HCIR credentialing requirements to enter facilities in assigned territory (may include background checks, drug screens, immunization/vaccination proof, fingerprinting, etc.).
- Valid driver’s license; ability to pass pre-employment drug screening and meet safe driving requirements.
