Role Summary
Specialty Representative, Migraine - Abilene/San Angelo/Wichita Falls, TX. Field-based role within AbbVie, responsible for executing brand strategy and tactics in the field, managing the assigned territory and targeted accounts, and building strong customer relationships to maximize short- and long-term sales performance with the patient at the center.
Responsibilities
- Deliver sales performance, brand KPIs, financial targets, and marketing objectives to meet or exceed targets.
- Create pre-call plan objectives and conduct post-call evaluation to continuously improve sales performance; handle objections and concerns to close on sales calls.
- Proactively serve customer needs and expectations to build trusted relationships and achieve win-win agreements between AbbVie and customers.
- Develop and execute a call plan that achieves call metrics and optimizes coverage and frequency to key customers to maximize access and sales opportunities.
- Continuously build understanding of customer needs, territory landscape, competitors, market segments, accounts, disease state, product, clinical and sales expertise; share market intelligence with in-field team and brand team to optimize strategy and execution.
- Differentiate AbbVie’s value proposition with health providers and identify, develop, and maintain disease state experts and speakers/advocates to maximize brand performance.
Qualifications
- Required: Bachelor’s degree in health, sciences, pharmacy, or business-related field or equivalent industry experience; high school diploma/GED required with 5 years of relevant experience and 3+ years in pharmaceutical/health/science industry preferred.
- Required: Proven leadership, strong presentation skills, business acumen, and proficient use of business tools; strategic and critical thinking abilities.
- Required: Ability to identify customer style/behavior and adapt selling approaches; able to operate effectively in a matrix environment.
- Preferred: Track record of sales success in relevant therapeutic areas; experience in physician/account-based selling, training, managed health care, or marketing.
- Preferred: In-depth scientific, therapeutic, product, and competitive knowledge; recognized as an expert resource by stakeholders.
- Preferred: English proficiency (verbal and written) for non-English speaking regions.
- Required: Satisfy all HCIR credentialing requirements to access facilities and organizations in the territory; maintain good standing or eligibility for credentials.
- Required: Driving a personal or company vehicle; valid driver’s license and ability to pass pre-employment drug screening and meet safe driving requirements.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in health, sciences, pharmacy or business-related field preferred or equivalent industry experience required.
