Role Summary

Specialty Representative, HCV - Minneapolis, MN. Execute brand strategy and tactics in field, drive sales performance, effectively manage assigned territory and targeted accounts, and build strong customer relationships to maximize short and long term sales performance with patient-centered focus.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver sales performance, brand KPIs, financial targets, and marketing objectives to meet or exceed goals.
  • Create pre-call plans with SMART objectives and perform post-call evaluations to continuously improve sales performance; handle objections and drive to close on every sales call.
  • Proactively serve customer needs and challenges to build trusted relationships and achieve win-win agreements between AbbVie and customers.
  • Develop and execute a call plan to achieve set call metrics and optimize coverage and frequency to key customers to maximize access and sales opportunities.
  • Gain and share market intelligence on customer needs, territory landscape, competitors, disease state, product, clinical and sales knowledge with in-field team, brand team, and sales manager to align and optimize brand strategy.
  • Differentiate AbbVie’s value proposition with health providers and develop disease state experts and speakers/advocates to maximize brand performance.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in health, sciences, pharmacy or business-related field preferred or relevant equivalent experience required.
  • At least five years of industry experience in lieu of a degree, with three or more years in the pharmaceutical/health/science industry preferred; high school diploma/GED required.
  • Ability to identify customer style/behavior and adapt selling approach; operates effectively in a matrix environment.
  • Proven track record in selling with strong presentation skills; able to offer innovative ideas to maximize opportunities.
  • In-depth scientific, therapeutic, product, and competitive knowledge; strong business acumen and use of business tools; strategic and critical thinking capabilities.
  • Influences others and builds collaborative partnerships with district colleagues and matrix team.
  • Must meet HCIR credentialing requirements to gain entry into facilities and organizations in the territory (including background checks, drug screens, immunizations).
  • Preferred: experience in respective therapeutic areas, physician/account based selling, training, managed health care or marketing; English proficiency (verbal and written).
  • Must maintain eligibility to obtain HCIR credentials.
