Role Summary
This field-based specialty role is responsible for delivering sales performance and building relationships with healthcare providers in Savannah/Augusta, GA. The candidate will live within a reasonable distance from the primary city and will be hired at a level commensurate with experience.
Responsibilities
- Deliver sales performance, brand KPIs, financial targets, and marketing objectives to meet or exceed targets.
- Create and execute a pre-call plan with SMART objectives and perform post-call evaluations to continuously improve sales performance; effectively handle objections and close on calls.
- Proactively serve customer needs and build trusted relationships to achieve win-win agreements between AbbVie and customers.
- Develop and execute a call plan that achieves metrics and optimizes coverage and frequency to key customers to maximize access and sales opportunities.
- Share market intelligence on customer needs, territory landscape, competitors, market dynamics, accounts, disease states, products, and sales expertise with in-field and brand teams to align and optimize strategy.
- Differentiate AbbVie’s value proposition with health providers and identify, develop and maintain disease-state experts and advocates to maximize brand performance.
Qualifications
- Required: High school diploma or GED; five years of relevant industry experience in lieu of a bachelor’s degree, with at least three years in the pharmaceutical/health/science industry; or a bachelor’s degree in health, sciences, pharmacy or business-related field (preferred).
- Required: Proactively identifies customer style/behavior and adapts selling approach.
- Required: Offers innovative ideas and solutions to maximize opportunities; leverages findings to develop sales strategies.
- Required: Demonstrates in-depth scientific, therapeutic, product, and competitive knowledge; strong business acumen; ability to operate in a matrix environment; strategic thinking.
- Required: Influences others and is viewed as a credible, collaborative resource; leads by example and coaches peers in changing environments.
- Required: Documented success in leadership and increased responsibility at district, regional, or organizational levels.
- Preferred: Proven track record of sales success in relevant therapeutic areas; experience in physician/account-based selling, training, managed health care, or marketing; English proficiency (verbal and written).
- Required: HCIR credentialing to gain/maintain access to facilities; in good standing or eligible to obtain credentials.
- Required: Driving a personal vehicle or company car; valid driver’s license; ability to pass pre-employment drug screening and meet safe driving requirements.
