Responsibilities
- Execute brand strategy/tactics in field to deliver sales performance, brand KPIs, financial targets, and marketing objectives.
- Create pre-call plans with SMART objectives; perform post-call evaluation to improve performance; handle objections and drive logical calls to action to close.
- Proactively serve customer needs to build trusted relationships and win-win agreements.
- Develop and execute call plans to meet call metrics and optimize customer coverage/frequency to maximize access and sales opportunities.
- Build and share market intelligence (customer needs, territory landscape, competitors, accounts, disease/product/clinical insights) with in-field team, brand team, and sales manager to optimize brand strategy.
- Differentiate AbbVie’s value proposition; identify and develop disease state experts and speakers/advocates.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in health/sciences/pharmacy/business preferred; or 5+ years relevant industry experience (3+ years preferred) in pharmaceutical/health/science; high school diploma/GED required.
- Demonstrated selling success; strong presentation skills; innovative problem-solving.
- In-depth scientific/therapeutic/product/competitive knowledge; strong business acumen; strategic/critical thinking.
- Ability to operate in a matrix environment; influences others and builds collaborative partnerships.
- Meet HCIR credentialing requirements (e.g., background checks, drug screens, immunization proof; may include fingerprinting/state licenses) to enter/maintain facility access.
- Valid driver’s license; pass pre-employment drug screening; meet safe driving requirements.
- Travel to cover territory and attend scheduled events; drive personal or company vehicle.
- Preferred: sales success in relevant therapeutic areas; physician/account-based selling, training, managed health care, or marketing experience; English proficiency.
