Role Summary

This field-based role requires proximity to the primary city. Talent will be hired at a level commensurate with experience. This geography covers Worcester, Cambridge, Fitchburg, Manchester, NH, Concord, NH, Keene, NH.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver sales performance, brand KPIs, financial targets, marketing objectives, etc. to meet or exceed those objectives.
  • Create pre-call plans using SMART objectives and execute post-call evaluations to continuously improve sales performance; handle objections and close on sales calls.
  • Proactively serve customer needs, expectations, and challenges to build trusted relationships and achieve win-win agreements.
  • Develop and execute a call plan that achieves set call metrics and optimizes coverage and frequency to key customers to maximize access and sales opportunities.
  • Continuously build understanding of customer needs, territory landscape, competitors, market dynamics, and share market intelligence with in-field and brand teams to optimize strategy.
  • Differentiate AbbVie’s value proposition with health providers and identify disease state experts and speakers to maximize brand performance.

Qualifications

  • Required: Bachelor’s degree in health, sciences, pharmacy or business-related field, or relevant equivalent industry experience.
  • Required: Relevant and equivalent industry experience; if no bachelor’s degree, at least five years in the pharmaceutical/health/science industry with three or more years of relevant experience; high school diploma/GED required.
  • Required: Demonstrates in-depth scientific, therapeutic, product, and competitive knowledge; strong business acumen; able to operate in a matrix environment; provides innovative solutions to maximize opportunities.
  • Required: Proven track record of sales success and strong presentation skills; ability to adapt to customer style and anticipate changes.
  • Required: Influences others and is viewed as credible; builds collaborative partnerships with district colleagues and matrix teams; leads by example.
  • Required: Documented leadership and increased responsibility at district/region levels; utilizes findings to develop sales strategies.
  • Preferred: Proven track record of sales success within the therapeutic area; experience in physician/account-based selling, training, managed health care or marketing; English proficiency in speaking and writing.
  • Required: Satisfy all applicable health care industry representative (HCIR) credentialing requirements to gain access to facilities and organizations in the assigned territory; in good standing or eligible to obtain credentials.
  • Required: HCIR credentialing may include background checks, drug screens, immunizations, fingerprinting, and state/city licenses; responsible for satisfying all requirements.
  • Required: Valid driver’s license and ability to pass pre-employment drug screening; ability to drive a personal auto or company vehicle.
